Reclamation within Feminism

In my Medieval Women Writers Class, we were asked to write a Modern-Day Adaptation Essay whereby we compared two works. One work showed the adaptation of a subject in the past whereas the other showed the adaption of the same subject in present times. The works chosen for this paper were an art piece titled, The Dinner Party, by Judy Chicago and a book titled, The Book of the City of Ladies, by Christine De Pizan. This paper answers the question: In what ways are Chicago and Pizan advocating for and “reclaiming” women, and how are those methods influential to the action’s women audiences viewing their works may take?
